An interesting, unique story that I greatly enjoyed. The sex scenes were hot and I loved seeing how Dersai and Jaden’s feelings for each other changed and grew. The only downside would be the lack of scenes with Rem. The book starts out with Jaden (as Black) protecting and helping Rem and then once he gets to the emperor’s palace, they barely interact at all for the remainder of the book, which was confusing. I didn’t get what Rem’s purpose was at all which caused a bit of a disconnect for me. I would love to see a sequel to this book, potentially with Dersai’s point of view, showing their family growing up and more of Rem.
All in all, I greatly enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it.
